I’m reading a great book (in between my ferocious consumption of The Hunger Games and Catching Fire
) called Achieve Anything In Just One Year. It calls itself, “The last self-improvement book you’ll ever need!”
And it just might be.
Achieve Anything In Just One Year: Be Inspired Daily to Live Your Dreams and Accomplish Your Goals by Jason Harvey is a book that guides you through small daily choices that can make a big difference in your life. I’m finding this book easy to digest and motivating. I often set goals for myself, but it’s so easy to forget about them. Goals need to be in the forefront of your mind every day, and that’s what this book helps you do. Read just one page a day and take action that will “create a ripple effect” and help you feel more focused and inspired.
Each day (page) begins with a quote. (I’m a big fan of quotes and have been known to tape them on the walls around my house on index cards.) Here are a couple of my favorites:
- It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. –J.K. Rowling
- You only live once. If you don’t enjoy it, it’s your fault, nobody else’s. –Duncan Bannatyne
- Life is a lottery we’ve already won. But most people have not cashed in their tickets. –Louise L. Hay

Sounds great. Since I’m turning 40 on the 30th, it would be a great year to achieve “anything.”
I love your blogs subtitle!! It is something I live by too!

I am pretty good about smaller short term goals if I have a clear plan. The problem for my “life goals” (like writing my own book; doing more speaking) is that I can’t seem to get the plan together. So the goals sit there as a “someday I will….”. I would love to see if this book could help me get out of my own way already!
Thanks for sharing and Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest! :-)

Sounds like a great book and something worth doing. I once heard that it takes 28 days to establish new habits but I am guessing this book is about more than that kind of thing. I might check it out from my library and take a look. thanks for the tips at SITS each week.

Hi,
It has to be great book if it has Louise Hays in it. She wrote a book a couple of years ago. It was so inspiring. I used to keep it by my bedside to calm me when life did not make sense. Its better than popping pills to sleep. Have a sweet weekend! Best regards, Anne-Marie.

This sounds like an amazing book! I’m working on a concept for a daily reminder of little things, based loosely on some ideas I found in Gretchen Rubin’s Happiness Project, and I’m intrigued to find another daily approach. Great site, and congrats on being the SITS pick of the day!
Keep up your good work!

Book title seems to be great. I really like inspirational books.
So because of your post, I purchased this book (special order and a little pricey) but it has been FANTASTIC. I am working through it at the same time as 2 coworkers and I have pretty much transformed my outlook in 30 days! I hope to keep it up through the whole year.
