Did you know I write weekly blogging tips every Saturday over at the SITS site? SITS is a community of bloggers who support each other through commenting. Each weekday a featured blogger is chosen and today is my day. I want to take this chance to thank all the SITStahs for the wonderful comments they leave on my weekly blogging tips posts and for visiting me here today.
A bit about me? I’m the homeschooling mom of two awesome kids. Logan is 11 and Cassandra is 5. Here’s a photo of us. I have been married to a fantastic, brilliant man for 16 years. There’s a photo of him here. I’m a big fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, Twilight, and Harry Potter. I’m reading Catching Fire now and would like to thank Tiffany at SITS for recommending the Hunger Games series. Awesome.
I like to design blogs and play around with SEO and social media. I’m a libertarian (quite sad today about the healthcare reform passage) who thinks the government should stay out of everyone’s business. I love to scrapbook and ski. I love to exercise, yet love food even more. And I’m always trying to be the kind of parent I want my kids to become.
I have been blogging since March 2005. I started out as PHAT Mommy and blogged there for 4 1/2 years. Then I briefly moved to Mom, Reinvented. And in just the past month, I’ve settled here at Mom Improvement. I’m not quite sure where I’m going with all these changes, but I think this will be home for awhile.
Want to read my life story? Start with “How Did I Get HERE?” That was several years ago, but will tell you a lot about me and where I’m coming from. I’m basically just a girl trying to make everyone happy, and have some fun for myself in the meantime. Life is good. Thanks for stopping by!

Your tips are great – well written and easy to understand even for technophobes like me! Having looked at the SEO browser I now understand why I need to add labels to my posts, so I will start doing that properly from now on.
Now I just need to figure out how to get my photo on Google Connect, create a button, add a favorite posts section, customize my comments……..yes, I will be back every Saturday for more of your tips.
Have a wonderful weekend

Thanks for the tips on the SITS site :)
Hah, so glad to know that I’m not the only one who has changed her blog identity as often as I have! I used two handles that were related to my initials but had nothing to do with the title of my blog, before I finally settled on ramblin red, since my blog is Ramblings of a Red-Headed Step-Child. I’ve been blogging for 4 years this month, but only in the past month have decided to try and do anything commercial with it. Love your tips!

Thanks for all your tips, I am pretty new to my blog page and appreciate helpful ladies like yourself!
I used to home school until I realized that meant the kids are always home and I really have to teach ‘em something! LOL Actually I really enjoyed having them home..I home schooled 3 kids (kinder – high school) for 5 years with a newborn at home. After I stopped home schooling – one is a Marine and the other 2 are at a 4 day charter school, I had to discover my identity. So much of me was wrapped up in only that. I think this blog is part of my rediscovery!
Happy SITS Saturday – thanks again!
Love the game and enjoy reading your blog. Keep up the good work!

Happy Saturday Share fest Shannon! I love the wonderful way this site gets women together to support one another. I wonder what the early days of SitGirls was like and I am impressed that you’ve been blogging since 2004! The blogging tips are terrific as I am still learning about this world I embraced a year ago. Thank you!
By the way, I am looking for an experienced website expert to help me with a few ideas I have. If you know anyone…
Thanks again!

Hi Shannon, One of my favorites quotes (like the one you had from Ghandi) is: “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” from Wayne Dyer. I really enjoy your blog!!
