One of the most important elements of my “Reinvention” is a healthier lifestyle. I love fitness. I was an aerobic and spin instructor for 10 years before my kids were born. I’ve walked/jogged a half marathon and two 5Ks. But I’m inconsistent and I love to eat. My weight is at an all-time high. I’m not looking to become a size 6 (or even an 8), but adopting a consistent exercise program and better eating habits is important to me – and to the family that looks to me to provide healthy meals and a positive role model.
I know from experience that results are motivating, so today I’m starting a ten-day intense diet and exercise program. I need to feel more energetic and see some pounds drop off. I’ve followed the Isagenix diet program in the past and it’s worked well for me – I lost 9 pounds in 10 days the last time I did it. Of course, the key is learning new habits and eating well without having to buy an expensive meal replacement program for the rest of my life. Working on that…
So here’s the plan for today: IsaLean shake for breakfast, veggies for lunch, light dinner (I’ve already committed to taking the kids out to dinner tonight, so this will be hard for me). LOTS of water. Jillian Michaels’ 30-Day Shred program (about to start right after I post this). Walking/running two miles at the gym this afternoon. Tomorrow will be similar and Wednesday is a fasting day.
Wanna follow along? Let’s kick our metabolisms into high gear before Thanksgiving!

Good luck with it!
Oooh! I hope you will keep us posted. Like you, I used to be an aerobics instructor and had no kids but just life which led me down a less fitness oriented life. I am always looking for new ways to get motivated and kick start the fitness aspect of my life!

I hope that it went well! I have a yoga DVD that I’ve never used and am planning to use later today. This period between Thanksgiving and New Years has way too many calories!!
Oh and I’m here via SITS! ; )
