I love how Seth Godin talks about “shipping” — his term for getting a project completed and delivered. It doesn’t matter if it’s perfect all the time, because we learn from failure. Just ship it. Get it done.
I just shipped. It’s scary.
What happens when I declare to my family, friends and anyone who reads my blog that 2011 is my drop-dead year for making the changes I’ve been talking about for 10 years? It could be a wonderful success. It could be an embarrassing, depressing failure.

I’ve enjoyed lurking on this site for awhile and reading all of your good tidbits of info about parenting. Just de-lurking to let you know I’m rooting for you and I’ll be subscribing to your new site to follow your progress & hopefully make some progress of my own! (BTW–the rocks parable is one of my all-time faves!)

I wish you the best. I love Seth’s blog… and you won’t fail. You did ship, right? Just keep shipping! :)
I hope it ends up being a wonderful success for you! Blog changes are a great way for huge impact. This year, I have many goals also – good luck to you!
I always like the idea of new beginnings and the discipline it takes to maintain the changes you want to make. Sometimes I succeed. Sometimes I don’t. But I always love trying. The discipline project sounds like a good start for this year. I’ll cheer you on while I cheer myself on. It’ll be fun to look back and see how well we did.
